Agostino Bergamaschi:

“The basis of my research is to be found in considering the origin of a gesture, the generator of images and forms, and to find each time in which it is generated in the aesthetic experience. Each action inevitably generates a movement and effects space and time. I try to think about the almost imperceptible moment that produces the image, that suggests itself as a new imagery. In a work I try to search for an inversely proportionate relationship between form (in the sense of the work) and image, a relationship that gives life to a series of sensations and perceptions that then give rise to a genuine experience.

“This experience has an origin in a time and a space, and there exists a principle that generates it; this principle is also, and at one and the same time, a generator of a new imagery that detaches itself from experience in order to create a new one from it and that has its origins in a creative act. Images are inexhaustible because they are produced from an experience, a gesture, a fact.”
