Returning to the Dreispitzhalle for the second year, the seventh edition of the international art fair VOLTA welcomed a string of high-profile guests on its opening day yesterday, Monday, June 13th, 2011, and also noted strong sales reports from it exhibitors. Art lovers from all over the world, top-level international collectors and an engaged art audience — including representatives of major international exhibition venues and collections — contributed to the buzz and bustle in the Dreispitzhalle, located in the rapidly developing and artistically vibrant Dreispitz area of Basel.
Revisiting the original VOLTA concept of a selection of tightly focused emerging international galleries, including an inspirational new presentation format of mainly solo and two-person shows, guaranteed new discoveries and the expected exclusivity that made the art event feel more like a series of small exhibitions than a trade fair.
