David Hatcher

David Hatcher received an MFA from UCLA in 2006. Produces silkscreens, wall paintings, videos, books and drawings that offer tongue-in-cheek critiques of the philosophical and political foundations of contemporary culture. Recent group exhibitions include Ein Produkt des freien Willens, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin, and Kunstverein Göttingen, Göttingen; Whenever It Starts It Is The Right Time – Strategies for a discontinuous future, Frankfurter Kunstverein, Frankfurt; Just Painting, Works from the Chartwell Collection, Auckland Art Gallery, Toi o T_maki (all 2007); Overundersidewaysdown, Queen’s Nails Annex, San Francisco; Having New Eyes, Aspen Art Museum, Aspen (all 2006). Hatcher guest-edited an issue of Natural Selection, an art reviews magazine published in Aotearoa New Zealand for the documenta 12 magazines project.
